Beat the Airline's Cabin Bag Restrictions
The flights are booked, hotel reservation is confirmed and you can't wait to get away for a much-needed break. Except for one thing: you've somehow got to fit all of your belongings into one suitably sized carry-on bag.
Airline cabin bag restrictions are an inevitable part of modern day travel, so the trick is to find something that is spacious enough to fit all your in-flight essentials while still being compact enough to fit under the seat.
With an increasing number of airlines only allowing one cabin bag on board, the search for a perfect suitcase is becoming a requisite for travellers and holiday-makers. Whether you're looking for a bright yellow backpack or prefer a subtle navy weekend bag, we have a range of stylish and affordable carry-on bags designed to beat the airline's cabin bag restrictions.
Our favourite bags and the airlines you can take them on
EasyJet
Cabin Bag Policy - Maximum size 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including handles and wheels.
Cabin bags should be placed in the overhead lockers or if small enough under the seat in front of you. EasyJet check bag sizes before you board the plane, and if they’re bigger than the maximum 56 x 45 x 25cm, they are checked into the aircraft hold for an additional charge.

Ryanair
Cabin Bag Policy - All passengers are entitled to bring 1 small personal bag on board which must fit under the seat in front of you (40cm x 20cm x 25cm). Examples include a handbag, laptop bag or a small backpack.
Passengers are able to purchase Priority Boarding for an additional £6 - £12 depending on the flight date and route, which means that you’re permitted to bring an additional 10kg bag (55cm x 40cm x 20cm) into the cabin at no extra cost. However, be aware that Ryanair Priority Boarding is capped at 95 out of 189 passengers per flight for space reasons.

FlyBe
Flybe passengers can carry one standard cabin bag measuring no more than 55 x 35 x 20cm including wheels and handles. You can also take a smaller under seat item such as a laptop or a handbag.
Both items must weigh no more than 10kg combined. Cabin bags on FlyBe are subject to compliance checks. If your cabin bag is too big, you will not be able to take it into the aircraft cabin. Your bag will be transferred to the aircraft hold and a £35 charge payable by card will be applied.
